Coughlan disappointed about Cork job losses
Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Mary Coughlan has expressed her disappointment at today's job losses in Cork.
"The decision by Hormann Electronics to close its Cork facility with the loss of 138 jobs is very disappointing, in particular for the workers and their families," said a statement.
"These workers are a priority for the Government and its job creation and training agencies.
"The agencies will be offering every support to the workers so as they can find new jobs over the coming months. This support will start immediately.
"Enterprise Ireland and FÁS will work with the employees to ensure that replacement jobs are found for the workers. Training and other supports will be on offer, including information on small business start-ups.
"IDA Ireland will continue to work to attract new investment into the region."
