BT wins €12.5m contract in the North
BT has signed a seven-year, £10m (€12.5m) contract with the North's Department of Finance and Personnel (DFP) to provide data centre services that support the work of more than 18,000 civil servants.
Two sites in Belfast have been identified as the best data centres to operate the services.
By transferring the services from six sites to the two BT data centres, the Northern Ireland Civil Service will decrease security vulnerability.
In two separate deals, worth in excess of £6m (€7.5m), BT has been awarded a framework contract to supply up to 10,000 PCs on behalf of the Delivery and Innovation Division, and 4,000 laptops, each one encrypted to protect data stored on the hard disks.
