Murray McDonald has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Waterford News and Star and Wexford Echo.

Murray McDonald has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Waterford News and Star and Wexford Echo.

He will take on the CEO role in Waterford in addition to his current role managing the Wexford Echo group of newspapers.

The successful relaunch of the Waterford News & Star in 2007 has delivered a quality tabloid newspaper for the people of Waterford.

The Waterford News & Star won two European Newspaper Awards of Excellence at the recent European Newspaper Design Awards in Vienna.

TCH Regional Director, Tom Geoghegan, expressed his delight at this appointment: “Murray McDonald has a track record of achievement at our Wexford titles and we are very pleased to have someone of Murray's calibre in charge of the Waterford News & Star at this important time in its development.”
