Bank urged to compensate customers over stolen laptops
Bank of Ireland is being urged to compensate ten thousand of its customers whose personal information was contained on four laptops which were stolen last year.
The Consumers Association of Ireland says the bank has shown little regard for its customers who have been caught up in the incident.
The laptops, which contained sensitive information about customers who took out life assurance policies, were stolen between June and October 2007.
However the matter was only reported to the Financial Regulator earlier this month.
