FTSE overcomes losses to end in positive territory

The FTSE 100 Index overcame losses for major banks to finish in positive territory today after a volatile session on the London market.

The Footsie was deep in the red below 6000 at the mid-session as banks were hit again by Royal Bank of Scotland’s £12 billion rights issue.
