ITV surges on BSkyB 'stake sale'

Shares in ITV raced ahead today as reports suggested German broadcaster RTL was interested in snapping up BSkyB’s controversial stake in the group.

RTL, which already owns channel Five in the UK, is said to have teamed up with media mogul Haim Saban to approach Sky for its 17.9% shareholding in ITV, according to the Sunday Telegraph newspaper.
