Iralco staff return to work amid six-month reprieve
Staff at the troubled Iralco plant in Co Westmeath are returning to work this morning following a decision to keep the factory open for another six months.
More than 400 jobs are hanging in the balance at the facility in Collinstown, which went into liquidation last week due to financial difficulties.
Over the weekend, the management and liquidators informed the workforce that their jobs are safe for the next six months as four major customers have decided to stay with the company.
The liquidators will now spend the coming months trying to find a buyer for the business.
