Tesco profits soar 11.8%

Retail giant Tesco today rang up annual profits of £2.85bn (€3.55m), despite "challenging" trading conditions and increased competition from rivals.

Retail giant Tesco today rang up annual profits of £2.85bn (€3.55m), despite "challenging" trading conditions and increased competition from rivals.

The supermarket said pre-tax profits were up 11.8% on the year before.
