UK: Recycling firm cashes in
A UK recycling firm involved in the handling of fridges and other electrical items was acquired today in a deal worth £23m (€29.5m).
Shore Recycling, which was set up six years ago, has been bought by South West Water owner Pennon in order to bolster its waste management arm Viridor.
Pennon is buying the Perth, Scotland-based business from three individuals, including Shore’s founder Simon Howie and commercial director Malcolm Todd. Shore also has recycling facilities at Manchester and St Helens.
