FTSE buoyed by global markets

The FTSE 100 Index followed global markets higher today as the latest efforts to beat the credit crunch buoyed investors.

Wall Street’s best session since 2002 – gaining more than 3.5% – fed gains in Asian markets overnight following the liquidity moves from five central banks.
