Ladbrokes plc today announced its full year results for the year ended 31 December 2007, revealing an increase in operating profit of 43.6% at €26.3m.

Ladbrokes plc today announced its full year results for the year ended 31 December 2007, revealing an increase in operating profit of 43.6% at €26.3m.

Operating profit from continuing operations increased by 60.2% to a record £420m (€551m) benefiting from increased activity by Telephone High Rollers, continued growth in eGaming and strong performances from Ladbrokes Ireland.

Ladbrokes chief executive Chris Bell commented: “Ladbrokes has achieved record operating profits1 of £420m (€551m), benefiting from buoyant performance from Telephone Betting.

"Following a strong finish to 2007, we have made a positive start to the year. We will continue to develop the business through new products and channels, both in the UK and overseas, whilst remaining vigilant on costs."
