B&Q sales remain under pressure

B&Q owner Kingfisher said trading conditions in the UK remained challenging after the company revealed a near-2% drop in like-for-like sales today.

Kingfisher, which also owns Screwfix, reported total UK sales of £989m (€1.3bn) for the three months to February 2, down 1.9% on a same-store basis. While the trading environment in the UK had been tough, the group said revamped larger stores performed well and that its overseas arm, which accounts for more than half of all sales, continued to grow.
