The ISEQ index of Irish shares saw a small rise of 5.52 points to 6601.55 in morning trade today.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares saw a small rise of 5.52 points to 6601.55 in morning trade today.

Buildings materials group CRH recorded a 50c rise to €26 today while Grafton was up 6c to €5.75. Kingspan continued the positive trend in the construction sector, up 1.4c to €8.61.

McInerney Holdings was up 4c to €1.50.

Meanwhile, convenience food group Greencore is trading up 6c at €4.36 after the company announced a 22% increase in operating profit from €74.6m to €91m in the first full year since its exit from the sugar-processing business.

Greencore credited a substantial growth in its ingredients business, particularly in sales of malt, for buoying up the company's bottom line in otherwise difficult conditions.
