New player enters Irish holiday market

Long haul specialist Tropical Sky Ireland has entered the Irish luxury travel market, it was announced today.

Headquartered in Listowel, Co Kerry, the company has appointed Kevin Dufficy, a former managing director of Thomson Holidays Ireland, as sales director.

Harry Sydner, a former joint MD and former joint chairman of Budget Travel is non-executive chairman.

Tropical Sky Ireland is a sister company of Tropical Sky UK Ltd, which was established by managing director Michael Collins and commercial director Steve Garley two years ago.

The company does not produce printed brochures but sells its holidays on its website www.tropicalsky.ie.

“We are constantly updating our holidays with new and special offers and the website is the best way to give holidaymakers up to the minute information on our latest offerings”, says Dufficy.

“Exclusivity is at the heart of all Tropical Sky holidays, with only four-and five-star hotels on offer and the same standard of tours and excursions.

“We are targeting the high end of the market, where we estimate that up to 250,000 people will take holidays in long haul destinations this year. We expect this luxury market to continue to grow in the coming years”.
