Tourism chiefs will reveal plans today to boost the number of visitors to Ireland over the coming months.

Tourism chiefs will reveal plans today to boost the number of visitors to Ireland over the coming months.

Failte Ireland, Tourism Ireland and Dublin Tourism will give an overview of its marketing and business initiatives for 2008.

Last year, a record 7.8 million people visited Ireland – an increase of 5% on 2006 – generating €6.5bn.

Despite economic difficulties worldwide, visitor growth this year is expected to top 8.2 million.

Failte Ireland’s Shaun Quinn, Tourism Ireland’s Paul O’Toole, and Frank Magee of Dublin Tourism, will outline their plans to local tourism enterprises and trade representatives in the Radisson Hotel in Dublin 8.
