45 jobs hanging in balance at Tralee motor parts firm

Up to 45 jobs are reportedly hanging in the balance at a motor parts manufacturer in Tralee, Co Kerry.

Reports this morning say the US company Tillotson is currently only operating a three-day week due to a downturn in its business.

The company has reportedly warned that it may have to lay off up to 45 of its 73 employees, but efforts are underway to protect as many jobs as possible.

The losses are being described as a disaster for the town, which has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country.
