FTSE ends day with 3% rise after US rate cut
The FTSE 100 Index jumped nearly 3% today after an emergency interest rate cut in the US buoyed investors.
During a rollercoaster session for blue chip shares, the Federal Reserve’s unexpected chop of 0.75% to try and boost the US economy saw the Footsie end the day 161.9 points up at 5740.1.
