Most feel stamp duty changes 'will help home-buyers'
New figures released today reveal that almost 60% of people feel that the stamp duty changes brought about by Budget 2008, will help those who need to buy a new home.
Peter Bastable from Simply Mortgages, which carried out the survey, said the changes to the stamp duty regime "are the first steps towards a more confident property market, which should see more people trade up, trade down or move to a home more appropriate to their family’s needs.
