British retail giant, Sainsbury's, has bought an independent supermarket chain in the North in a multi-million-euro deal.

British retail giant, Sainsbury's, has bought an independent supermarket chain in the North in a multi-million-euro deal.

Curleys, which operates grocery shops, off-licences and petrol stations, employs nearly 600 people.

It is owned by the Kennedy family who began the chain 40 years ago as a corner shop in Belfast.
