A Dublin-based aircraft leasing company has completed a $6.9bn (€4.7bn) order for new Airbus planes.

The deal will see AWAS take ownership of 75 A320 planes, with an option for an additional 25.

AWAS president and chief executive, Franklin Pray, says the company successfully doubled in size in 2007 and this deal is further confirmation of its prime position in the industry.
