Northern Rock looking at 'in-house' rescue

The board of Northern Rock is considering the possibility of an “in-house” rescue for the stricken bank, it was reported today.

The Sunday Times said the lender had spoken to senior bankers about creating a top-level management team to work alongside new chief executive Andy Kuipers.
