Ikea shopper numbers pass 15,000 on first day

More than 15,000 shoppers visited IKEA during their first day of trading, it emerged today.

Eager visitors camped overnight and opening day organisers provided entertainment for the crowds including stilt walkers, jugglers and face painters, the Swedish giant said.
