Ryanair to bring case against European Commission
Ryanair has today lodged its fifth case in recent weeks in the European Court of First Instance against what the airline claims is the European Commission’s repeated failure to investigate state aid to national flag carrier airlines.
This latest case involves Ryanair’s complaint about state aid to Alitalia.
Ryanair claims to have called on the Commission to investigate the matter more than two years ago.
“Following the Commission’s failure to investigate this case, we are left with no alternative – yet again – but to challenge this further inaction in the European courts,” said Michael O’Leary, Ryanair’s CEO.
