IBEC launches health and safety guide

A new guide to assist employers on managing occupational safety and health and welfare entitled 'IBEC Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Management Guide' was launched today at the inaugural annual IBEC Occupational Health and Safety conference held in the Croke Park Conference Centre.

The guide is the most comprehensive single-volume publication on safety information in Ireland and includes information on the most recent regulations, which came into effect this month.

Tony Briscoe IBEC’s head of health and safety and author of the guide said: “The Guide gives a practical overview of the legal requirements in force today and an insight into the huge array of safety, health and welfare issues which affect companies and other establishments on a daily basis, including the most recent legislative changes which came into effect from November 2007 called the General Application Regulations 2007.

It provides an essential tool and source of reference for the safety and health officer, health and safety manager, safety co-ordinator, front line manager or anyone who is involved in health and safety.”
