Pets firm mulls sale option

UK pet accessories chain Pets at Home today said it was considering plans for a possible float or trade sale of the business.

The Cheshire-based firm, whose festive ranges this year include Santa costumes for cats and dogs and pet-friendly Christmas puddings, has appointed investment bank Rothschild to advise on merger and acquisition options.

Fellow banks Citi and JP Morgan will also act as joint bookrunners for Pets at Home should a stockmarket launch be decided, although any float is unlikely to take place until the middle of next year.
