E-tailers poised for festive sales rush

Online retail titan Amazon this week set the pace for what promises to be a booming Christmas for internet shopping this year.

The internet giant posted a quadrupling of third quarter net income and said it was on track for a near 40% lift in festive sales. In the UK, it expects to send out nearly a million parcels a day in the run up to Christmas – up around a third on previous years.
