British energy giant BP went to Texas’ Supreme Court in a bid to keep its former chief executive from being questioned in lawsuits over a deadly plant explosion two years ago.

Lawyer Brent Coon, representing workers injured in the blast at the London-based oil company’s refinery in Texas City, wants to ask former chief executive John Browne about his knowledge of the accident.
