Beleaguered mortgage bank Northern Rock was once again under pressure today amid concerns that it could struggle to find a buyer.

Shares slid a further 17%, or 43.5p to 213.5p, representing a near three-fold fall since last Thursday, prior to the start of the heavy sell-off.
