Jurys offers clients free high-speed internet

Jurys Doyle Hotel Group has become the first hotel group to offer free high-speed internet access (HSIA) and free WIFI connectivity to guests across all its international properties.

The initiative means that guests at all Jurys Doyle Hotels in Ireland, the UK and the US, can now log on in the comfort and privacy of their bedrooms, as well as in hotspot areas around the hotels, including the lobby, meeting rooms, business centres and conference areas free of charge.

This unique value-added service sets Jurys Doyle Hotels apart from its competitors in the luxury market in Ireland, according to the company.

An analysis of the costs levied by other Dublin hotels for HSIA shows that some four-star and five-star hotels in the city charge up to €75 for internet access for a 24-hour period for guests and non-guests, with the average charge coming in at more than €23 per 24 hours.

Ongoing customer satisfaction research conducted by Jurys Doyle has shown that not only is the demand for high-speed internet access growing among guests, but also that customers are increasingly fed up with having to pay charges to go online.

Customer feedback also shows that a significant proportion of business travellers say that the availability and cost of the amenity affected their choice of hotel.

Bill Walshe, recently appointed chief executive of Jurys Doyle, said access to a high-speed internet connection was absolutely crucial for many of their customers and was viewed by them as a basic in-room necessity, not a luxury extra they should have to pay for.

Offering strong, free, fast high-speed internet access in the guest rooms and wireless in the lobbies of our hotels set them apart from their competitors, and clearly demonstrated their commitment to listen to, and act on feedback from guests.

By offering free WIFI access, they were providing an important value-added service which would result in an enhanced experience for guests who stayed at their hotels around the world.
