ABFoods set to hike bread prices

Kingsmill owner Associated British Foods warned of a further rise in the price of its bread today.

The company, which also makes Ryvita, Allinson and Burgen, said the latest hike was needed to recover “recent sharp increases” in the cost of flour.

Last week, Hovis firm Premier Foods said it was considering further price rises on top of those already pencilled in for this month.
