Wizz Air starts summer sale on flights
Low-fare airline Wizz Air has launched a massive end of summer sale on 80% of its route network.
Passengers will be able to book flights from as little as €19.99, all inclusive, on many of the airline’s routes.
The sale continues until Wednesday, September 5.
John Stephenson, chief commercial officer Wizz Air, said the sale was a ‘thank you’ for the fantastic support they had received from all their customers throughout the past 12 months.
Wizz Air celebrated its first anniversary of operations from Cork Airport last month.
The company first flight from Cork took off on July 14, 2006, to Katowice. The airline later added a service to Gdansk.
It currently operates a three times weekly service to Katowice and Gdansk.
The airline has carried over 70,000 passengers between Cork and the two Polish cities since it commenced operations in July 2006.
Wizz Air began operating from Katowice in May 2004.
The airline currently operates from six bases to 47 destinations on more than 90 routes across Europe.
The firm uses a young fleet of 13 180-seater Airbus A320 aircraft.
The airline offers flights from Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia and Romania.
