Number of firms with vacant jobs up sharply last month

The number of companies with job vacancies last month was up significantly on the previous month, according to the latest survey from FAS and the ESRI.

The two organisations say 17% of private-sector firms involved in the survey had jobs on offer in July, compared with 12% in June.
