Competition chiefs have forced 13 airlines to change adverts and websites so travellers are given the total cost of flights including all charges right from the start of the transaction.

The changes have been made following concerns by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) that passengers discover the full cost of their flights only when they come to the last part of the booking process.
