ISEQ has negative morning

The ISEQ index of Irish shares was down this morning by 150.32 points to 8413.07.

The financial sector suffered more so than any other with AIB plummeting 59c to €18.66. Irish Life and Permanent didn't fare much better with a 45c fall to €17.30. There was bad news all round as with Anglo Irish Bank falling by 35c to €13.35.

Elsewhere, food giant Kerry Group plummeted 87c to €18.62 as did IAWS down 60c to €14.70. Glanbia had a better morning and remained unchanged at 15c.

The negative trend continued and the biggest fall was construction group CRH dropping 71c to €32.14 with Kingspan performing just as badly sliding 65c to €17.

McInerney Holdings fared better falling a mere 5c to €2.19.
