ISEQ enjoys a good day's trading
The ISEQ index of Irish shares was resurgent today, soaring up 292.49 points to 8548.32.
This came despite almost a third of the share value of C&C being wiped away. This followed an announcement by the company that, following a very poor July’s trading, they are expecting operating profit to be down 35% on last year.
The financial houses were among the main beneficiaries of the good day on the trading floor. AIB grew €1.00 to €19.25 while Anglo was up €0.43 to €13.68. BoI climbed €0.59 to €13.94 and IL&P were up €0.86 to €17.85.
The other main mover was Iona Technology, growing €0.30 to €3.30.
