ISEQ loses 1.13%
The ISEQ index of Irish shares fell 94.81 points, or 1.13% in trading today, closing at 8262.59. This follows last week's losses of €8.6bn, with commentators pointing the finger at the housing slowdown.
Construction and building materials stocks had mixed fortunes - Grafton's 25c surge saw it close at €9.49. Kingspan also gained, but more modestly, up 4c to €17.29. Housebuilder Abbey lost 10c to close at €9.80 and CRH tumbled 44c to close at €31.56.
Anglo Irish bank joined CRH as one of the biggest losers of the day, down 40c to €13.18.
Paddy Power lost 20c €22.25.
