Experts play down fears of construction job losses

Experts have today stated that there is no need for the current level of scaremongering surrounding jobs in the construction industry.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) says it does believe massive job losses are on the cards.

This comes in response to recent warnings from some commentators of massive lay-offs due to a slowdown in the housing sector.

Construction workers fear some employers may use the upcoming holiday period to shed jobs.

The CIPD also says many workers who do lose jobs will be able to find alternative employment in associated areas like maintenance and refurbishment.
