The ISEQ list of Irish shares was up 11.8 points in morning trade today and is currently trading at 9119.72.

The ISEQ list of Irish shares was up 11.8 points in morning trade today and is currently trading at 9119.72.

Housebuilder Abbey was among the stocks in negative territory, down 14c to €9.76 having opened at €9.90.

Things were flat or negative across the construction sector in fact. Building materials group CRH lost almost 3c from its share value and is now trading at €35.95 per share.

Things were somewhat more positive at Grafton, where shares gained 6.1c and are now trading at €9.80. Kingspan fell 3c to €18.73.

Paddy Power has gained 20c to €23.10 so far today. The bookmaker made the news today with the news that it has accepted its biggest-ever Big Brother eviction bet in the shape of a €50,000 flutter from an Irish punter on the eviction of housemate Nicky.

In airline stocks, Ryanair gained almost 3c to €4.98, while Aer Lingus gained 4c to €2.54.
