London’s blue-chips were under pressure today as key UK inflation data left investors fearing another imminent interest rate rise.

The FTSE 100 Index sunk into the red by 49.6 points to 6648.1 after official figures revealed that the Consumer Prices Index fell to 2.4% in June, higher than the 2.3% expected by economists.
