Murdoch empire faces probe

Rupert Murdoch’s UK newspaper empire will be drawn into the Competition Commission inquiry into BSkyB’s acquisition of a 17.9% stake in ITV, the regulator confirmed today.

The Competition Commission said its investigation will cover the raft of newspaper titles owned by News International – a major shareholder in BSkyB – as it outlined the full scope of the probe.
