BT gets Bright for £15.8m
Telecoms giant BT boosted its broadband operation today with the acquisition of internet provider Brightview for £15.8m (€23.4m).
Brightview, set up in 2001, is a small internet service provider best known for its Madasafish, Global Internet and Waitrose internet services. The group is also working with department store chain John Lewis to launch its new “GreenBee” internet and telephone offering.
The deal will add Brightview’s existing 62,000 broadband customers to BT’s 3.66 million customer base, taking BT’s total to more than four million customers.
