Minister Martin 'should have known about job threats': FG
Fine Gael is challenging Minsiter for Enterprise Michael Martin to reveal whether he knew about the threat to 140 jobs at Lapple Ireland in Carlow, and the 400 jobs in Shannon before the election.
The party's Enterprise spokesman Phil Hogan said the job losses have confirmed that Ireland's competitiveness continues to decline.
The Carlow-Kilkenny deputy said that Fianna Fáil should have known of the threat and so may have withheld sensitive information about the state of the economy.
