Uk Cable & Wireless today looked set to face a shareholder rebellion over plans to award its chairman a bonus worth in excess of £10m (€14.8m).

The Financial Times said several leading shareholders have threatened to oppose the re-election of Richard Lapthorne in protest over a planed 5.5 million share payout to the chairman as part of a three-year incentive scheme.
