DSG hires Tesco director for top job

Currys owner DSG International unveiled a rising star of Tesco’s management team as its new chief executive today.

The appointment of 43-year-old John Browett comes just a week after DSG’s long-time boss John Clare announced his intention to step down in September.

Mr Browett is seen in the City as an up-and-coming member of Tesco’s top team, having working his way up to operations development director during almost nine years with the supermarket chain.
