New rules on heavy duty diesel emissions helped pollution control specialist Johnson Matthey deliver double-digit growth in full-year profits in the Uk today.

The standards came into effect last October for all new vehicles sold in Europe, driving second-half sales of heavy duty diesel (HDD) catalysts up almost seven-fold to £46m (€67.9m).
