Budget airline Ryanair today attacked British Chancellor Gordon Brown's decision to double air passenger duty as it warned of a slowdown in passenger growth and profits for the year ahead.

Michael O'Leary, chief executive of the low-cost carrier, said the February tax hike was "highway robbery" and was hitting demand for no frills flights.
