Labour Court to begin hearing into Frawley's dispute
The Labour Court is due to begin a hearing today into a redundancy dispute at one of Dublin's oldest department stores.
The Frawley's store in the Liberties area of the city is due to close next week with the loss of 40 jobs.
The owners have offered the staff three weeks of pay per year of service, but the Mandate trade union says this is not enough given the €10m that will be made from the sale of the premises.
The dispute is going before the Labour Court following the breakdown of negotiations at the Labour Relations Commission this week.
