ISEQ dips slightly

The ISEQ index of Irish shares was down today, falling 20.76 points to 9800.86.

Smurfit Kappa was down €0.48 to €19.30. It had earlier announced that it is to close its plant in Coolock.

The Amicus union, which represents staff, has said it hopes redundancy packages will be offered in line with other multinational companies.

The financial institutions, with the exception of AIB, were all down. Anglo fell €0.16 to €17.24, IL&P fell €0.20 to €19.91 and Bank of Ireland were down €0.29 €16.43.

AIB grew €0.08 to €23.07.
