BG profits weakened by dollar impact

BG Group’s first-quarter results took a hit today after the UK-based gas exploration and production company faced lower prices and a fall in the US dollar.

Operating profits were 20% lower at £734m (€1bn) in the first three months of the year, even though the company said it continued to perform well.
