The UK's pound smashed another landmark today as the fallout from yesterday’s shock inflation figures pushed it to a 26-year high against the dollar.

The UK's pound smashed another landmark today as the fallout from yesterday’s shock inflation figures pushed it to a 26-year high against the dollar.

The currency broke through the symbolic two US dollars mark yesterday after the inflation data increased the prospect of further interest rate rises.
